WOW!! Has it really been 14 years??

 We started a Rockabilly band in 2007, just for fun, and we turned into a group that performs and entertains at major car shows, special events and provides tour support for regional and national acts! 

  You can hear classic 50's rock and roll, our roots andmusic by Rockabilly artists like Stray cats, Reverend Horton Heat and more. Mix in a bit of old school country and twang! There ya go! 

And don't forget the originals!!

  In 2016 saw the release of their second CD, "Tall Cold Beer..Short Warm Blonde". A follow up to their self titled CD "Big Red Rawkit Riot" in 2013. June of 2021 has seen the release of a 4 song EP, "It's Da Covid Lie"! 

  Big Red Rawkit Riot has performed at Argus Leader Ribfest, Hot Harley Nights-Sioux Falls. They've rawked these car shows: Symco Weekender, Retro Rewind, Folsum Lockdown, Winterfest of Wheels, Rustemberfest, The Scene of the Crash, Outkasts Car Show, Island Park Ballroom Show & Shine, Gordy Waltz Memorial Show & Shine, Sioux Avenue Cruise Night, Sioux Falls Automania. 

  Big Red Rawkit Riot is no stranger to live tour support. The Reverend Horton Heat, Jesse Dayton, Super Suckers, The Surfaris, Wayne "The Train" Hancock, Koffin Kats, Legendary Shack Shakers, The Living Deads, Gutter Demons, Igor and The Red Elvises, Krank Daddies, Hillbilly Casino, Reckless Ones, Mad Max & the Wild Ones, Bob Wayne & the Outlaw Carnies, Hairball, The Vandoliers, Nekromantix, Reverend Peyton and his Big Damn Band!  Whether it's on the event stage or a local bar, these cats rawk it up and enjoy doing it! And you will hear some damn fine Rawk n Roll!

2021 saw the departure of long time bassist Ditch Roadkill and the addition of Marc Lunde on the upright bass!

In Memorial!!

On March 19th, 2024, we lost a great member of Big Red Rawkit Riot! Ronald John Schmidt, "Johnny Lightning" succumbed to his illness. He fought a damn good fight! His rawkin is gonna be missed. I've been rawkin with him for 12 years..and some damn good ones! Not only has the Rawkit lost a colleague, but the Sioux Falls music community has lost a great man!!
